We tune our support to the unique ecology of each project.

We’re interested in work that seeks the in-between: intersections of form and method, material and moment, place and people.

We’re drawn to things that are difficult to define - art that engages time, community, and context through processes that listen as deeply as they speak. 

We value ways of doing that unfold with care, attention and responsiveness to their surroundings.

Strange Engine is run by three experienced artists and producers: Jason Maling, Anna Schoo and Martyn Coutts.
